ASBESTOS CONSULTING SERVICES
When the inspection identifies asbestos-containing material (ACM) that will (or could) be affected by the renovation, it must be removed properly. In the case of demolition, pretty much all ACM must be removed before demolition can begin. The removal project, also referred to as an abatement, must be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed consultant. AZTEC is a licensed Asbestos Consultant Agency that can guide you through the entire abatement process.
Generally speaking, the abatement of asbestos must be performed by a licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor. The Consultant performs all of the other required services on the building owner’s behalf. The first step is to prepare a project design to comply with EPA and state of Texas regulations. The Asbestos Abatement Contractor will use this document to prepare his pricing for the Owner. A notification must be filed with the EPA and State 10 working days prior to commencement of abatement activities. Throughout the abatement project, the AZTEC Project Manager will ensure compliance with the project design and regulations, and will perform required air monitoring. Once the contractor has completed the work, the AZTEC Project Manager will perform a final visual inspection to verify the work has been completed properly, and will then perform a final air test before releasing the area.
